How to Extract Selected PDF Pages with a Range Like 1-3,5
Choose pages from one source PDF, understand ranges and verify the output before sharing.
The short answer
To keep specific pages from one PDF, open Extract Pages, select the file and enter comma-separated page numbers. For example, 1-3,5 keeps pages one, two, three and five in that order. Select Extract, download the new PDF and open it to check the contents. Page numbering starts at 1 as in a PDF reader, not zero. Running the tool requires an account; a free account includes ten eligible one-time operations.
A reliable workflow
- Open the original PDF in a reader and count its pages. If a cover has no printed number, use its position in the reader rather than a number printed on a document page.
- Open Extract Pages and choose one PDF. Enter a range such as
1-3,5or a single number such as4. Arabic-Indic numerals such as١-٣,٥also work. - Run the extraction and wait for the completion message and download link. Give the downloaded file a descriptive name and keep the original.
- Open the result to inspect page count, order, readable text and stamps before sending it. Follow the recipient’s instructions if it asks for separate attachments.
Ranges, duplicates and errors
A hyphen includes both ends: 2-4 selects pages two, three and four. A comma starts the next selection, and the output follows the order of the entered parts. A repeated page is included once. Page zero, a number beyond the source, a reversed range such as 5-2, or nonnumeric text produces an error instead of a silently incomplete PDF. Avoid a trailing comma or an empty item between commas.
Privacy and page connections
The tool reads PDF pages in your browser and creates a local download link; it does not upload page contents to a Zayenha Tools conversion server. The page needs a connection to load its PDF library from a CDN. Account services and analytics may connect according to your consent choice and the privacy policy. Extraction does not remove personal details on selected pages or existing PDF metadata. Inspect the output before sharing it, and do not assume removing one page hides data on another.
Extract, split or merge?
Extraction makes one new file from chosen pages in one source PDF. If you need several separate outputs, use Split PDF. To combine two or more source files in order, see the Merge PDF guide. Removing pages may reduce size but cannot promise a particular limit; compare the result with the recipient’s limit and see the compression guide if needed.
If no download appears
Check that the source is a readable PDF and the range fits its page count. The browser needs a connection to load the processing library initially; a loading failure shows an error, not a success link. Reselect the file, correct the range and run it again. A very large, locked or damaged PDF may exceed a phone’s memory or fail to open; try a valid copy or a device with more memory. The previous output is cleared when you run a new extraction so it cannot be mistaken for the new result.
